Iceland - The Hottest Place on Earth

Hey guys and gals!
Long time no written... you must forgive me, but it seems like I'm busier on the Iceberg than in OZ.. must be the fact that I have a job here whereas I didn't emphasize that option overly while down under. Yup, have been working pretty much every day since I got back, v. interesting indeed.. both waitressing at the restaurant and working in the Blue Lagoon store selling all kinds of skincare products, woolen goods and postcards bearing pictures of puffins and vikings. Yessir, I live a very interesting life indeed. This one lady came up to me the other day practically in tears over the fact that we Icelanders actually eat the puffins. She thought they were too pretty to be served as dinner. Apparently the poor chickens are not as priviledged where she's concerned. I was not overly sympathetic, just said that I've tried eating the poor suckers (the puffins that is), wasn't actually overly fond of them and have personally let them go freely about their pointless but colourful lives.........
In other news.. what other news? My life consists of working and sleeping. Was going to buy a car today, on one of my first days of where there was no big responsibilities that I had to attend to, but my mom was too busy playing golf to chaperone me to the dealership.. Oh well..there's always tomorrow..
Next weekend is cultural night in Reykjavík, the city of fear, and I will of course attend. Whether I'll be sober enough to enjoy the culture is another story all together.. But being drunk is very intwined with the icelandic culture anyways..
Dinner is ready and I don't have anything else to say anyways.. Drop me a line, or a postcard.. I'll try to send you guys a puffin embelished one asap.. as soon as I find the time!
Lots of love from Iceland!
Andrea
